Not Tongue Shy

Our buddy, Tosca, asked all of us to show our tongues. Then my lovepup, Asta, practically dared us to. Not being a bit tongue shy ourselves, we have several photos we could post. Here are just a few.

Stella is posing here on the lap of my lovepug, Suki's, sissy.

Here's the best photo of my tongue, but it still doesn't show my Airedale tongue dot, which is waaaaay at the back. (Do you love the eyebrows? They practically stand up all by themselves).

And, as a bonus, here's a double booty shot for all our friends.

Museum Goob vs Whack-A-Goob

My portrait was just hung in the GooberStan National Museum. The museum is open to the public. No admission charge for pups. Hoomans must pay a $5 entrance fee, unless of course they have a year-long Goober Pass. Then it's free.

Digital Camera Fun

Also, I thought you might like to see the game Stella developed. Since I'm a good sport, I'm making it available to all of you.

Mr. Carrot Comes To Town

Do any of you recognize this little orange guy with the green hat?

It is the infamous Mr. Carrot, and he's come to GooberStan via Connecticut and our pals Maggie & Mitch. As you can see, he's having no trouble making friends.

Stella & I have had to work out a custody agreement. She gets him for a few minutes of squeak & chew time...

then it's my turn to give him some love.

He kind of looks like a big old stogey, doesn't he?

Now Stella, she just likes to squeak him. But I, on the other paw, have developed a deep and abiding friendship with Mr. Carrot.

He had an itch on his little green top, so I'm obliging him with some soothing love nibbles.

Mmmmmah mmmah, ohhhhh, mmah mmmmmmah. I think I love you, Mr. Carrot.

I do! I DO love you!

It was all fun & games until somedog bit the tip off of Mr. Carrot. (Any guesses who?)

After biting off Mr. Carrot's lower extremities, then Stella gets all lovey & gentle with him. It's a little late for that, honey.

Naturally, I spirited Mr. Carrot away to safety. Now, if I plug his hole by holding him down with my paw, I can still get him to squeak... if he's in the mood. (Sorry, Maggie. I tried to share and watch out for Mr. Carrot, but I have failed in my duties).

Maggie & Mitch also sent FABULOUS prezzies to welcome Stella to the family, and to sympathize with me, the displaced sibling. Here's Stella's haul ~ an Airedog squeaky bone (which she sometimes lets me play with), a squeaky scrunchy rabbid-looking rabbit (which she NEVER lets me play with), and a princess chew Nylabone (which I don't EVER want to play with).

See. I gnabbed the squeaky bone from her grasp for a few moments of bliss! (Merv absolutely HATES the pitch of this particular squeaker).

I feel I also need to mention that there were several tasty bags of treats in our great package from Maggsie & MitchMan, but I may have busted into the box while my girl was not home, and I may have eaten them all and hidden the wrappers so my girl has NO IDEA what we got.

I may have.

Thanks, Maggie & Mitch! YOu guys are great buddies to us and we LOVE YOU, so of course, we love anything or anyone you send to us. (Thank you for introducing us to the wonderful world of Mr. Carrot too!)

Goober love,
Stanley (& Stella)

It's Confirmed

Alright. I am a confirmed camera hound. Some would call me a media whore, but that would imply that I pander to the worldwide media machine, and that's simply not true. Look at these photos my hooman girl busted out of me. Whether being supremely annoyed by or wrasslin' with my sissy, Stella, I manage to find the camera and give it my best cheesey grin.

Okay. This one's not a grin so much as an expression of supreme boredom, but you get the idea.

I even manage to find the camera when it is partially obstructed by Stella's disproportionately large head.

My girl even caught one of my pin up calendar poses. Stella is exiting the photo in the bottom right corner... in disgust at my blatant camera-love.

Apparently, the only time I'm not mugging for the camera is when I'm unconscious. What can I say? The camera loves me.

Goober love,
Stanley

Her Own Private GooberStan

My sissy Stella, though a little puny, is a BIG GOOBETTE! She's been exhibiting more and more signs that she is, indeed, a goober of the highest order. For instance, check out her new personal hiding place. This is a photo of the chair our hooman girl sits on when she's at the pooter. It has this flowery cover over it.

Sometimes I can hear a muffled sing-songy voice coming from under this chair cover. When I get closer to investigate, I can hear Stella singing, "Betcha can't find meeeeeeee. Betcha can't. Betcha betcha can't can't."

All I have to do is mention that I'm going to get a snack, and miraculously, her head pops out!

Sometimes it doubles as a nap spot.

She's usually not happy to be awakened (unless it's feeding time for the little beast).

One other thing I've noticed... Stella has a shocking lack of regard for personal space.

I still love the litttle goober, though.

Hey! It's not too late to peemail me your entries for the First Annual GooberStanian Beard Contest. You have until midnight on the 4th to get your entry in (that's GST ~ GooberStanian Standard Time ~ the same as Central Standard Time).

Love,

Stanley

It's All About the Beard

Today is measuring day for all who have entered, or would like to enter the First Ever GooberStanian Beard Growing Contest, in honor of my dearly departed (and very well-bearded) friend, Dovah Doo.

Wasn't he a handsome guy?

There are 2 categories ~ Most Improved Beard (had to register previously for this one), and Longest Beard. If you would like to be considered for the prize in either category, please peemail me (see the sidebar where it says "peemail me") today after measuring your beard, and attach a photo of your beard to the peemail. If you are entering for Most Improved Beard, please include the original measurement you took back in October along with the current length of your beard.

This is a shot of Dovah Doo's luscious and juicy 8 inch beard just before he went to the Rainbow Bridge. Don't let that intimidate you, pups.

You may enter 1 or both categories. Winners will be announced by January 5th, and don't forget. There will be prizes for each winner!

If you want to read the backstory behind this contest, you can do that here.

Can't wait to see your photos! May the best beards win!

Good luck & Goober love,

Stanley
