Goobers in Beantown

Asta's daddi, George, was a quick study at the wheel of the GoobMobile on the way to Boston. With me as his trusty co-pilot he could hardly go wrong.

Of course, co-piloting still allowed me time to dole out goober smooches to the passengers.

In just a few hours we were in Boston, snout-to-snout with Agatha & Archie and their mom & dad!

We decided to give back to the city of Boston by displaying ourselves on Boston Common for a little Airedmiration and Wiredmiration.

I have to say that Agatha and Archie are FABULOUS at the tour guide gig. They even have a little comedy schtick they do and totally had Asta cracking up! (See her on the right telling her mommi the punchline?)

At times I felt like a black & tan boy at the tri-color convention.

Agatha even had time between sightseeing tours for a nice roach before the arrival of...

Ms. Sophia La Brador (Goober code name: Sophoober Bradoober). Here she is with her bootiful mama, Sherry.

There was so much going on that sometimes I wasn't sure which way to look. Aggie & Archie's dad was so gracious to us Beantown neophytes.

Agatha & Archie asked Sophie and Asta to tell them what they wanted to do. They consulted for a few minutes.

Frankly, I didn't care what we did as long as we were together!

We decided to aire out the hoomans and get them walkin'. Funny, though. They seemed to do so much talkin' they didn't get as much walkin' in as we wanted them to.

I found this house on Beacon Hill. I'm seriously considering buying it, but couldn't get anyone to show it to me on such short notice.

While perusing the real estate options Sophie's mama snuck over to get some goober lovin'. (She couldn't resist me... SERIOUSLY!)

This little Cairn Terrier guy showed up and strutted through our little walking pawty. He was adorable (according to my girl), but he was no Petey!

Sophie and I admired the architecture.

We stopped outside the house of Senator John Kerry, since he was probably waiting inside to receive our party.

Sophie & I conferred and decided to forego the visit to Casa de Kerry in lieu of more walking with our buds.

Sophie & I were forced to bond by my girl since we were going to be sleeping in the same hotel room with our mama and girl. (Asta slept with her parents on their big bed, on which there was not room enough for me!)

When we got back to the hotel for a very satisfied and much-needed snooze, Sophie had to be locked in her box so she wouldn't jump my goober bod. (This is Stanley's girl here. It was DEFINITELY the other way around. We locked Sophie in her box ~ which she loves, we've been told ~ to protect her honor and to keep Stanley from having to duel her boyfriend, Joe Stains. Sophie really is irresistible to everydog who meets her!)

On a much brighter note, at least my sweetpea Asta got to see my sexy pose on my Hugh Heffner bed!

Agatha & Archie, give your sweet parents big goob smooches from me for being so willing to give booty and ear scritches, and for whispering to me repeatedly how much they love me! I had a BLAST in Beantown, and can't wait to come back to explore more with you!!!
Go by Asta's blog to see more photos of our historic Boston dogfest! You won't be sorry!
Goober love,
Stanley

Like Wally

It is widely known that I am a big fan of my Corgador bud, Wally. I decided that if he could teach Irish dance, then I could teach soccer skills for would-be goalies. Here are some of my training tapes. (Please ignore the screeching of my camerawoman. She is quite the fan.)

Also, please ignore all the dust and the general condition of our house. My girl is actually writing on her thesis and her friends have threatened to come over with a backhoe to clean the place up once she's done. We may have to take them up on the offer.

I also have lots of catching up to do, having received some amazingly cool things in the mail recently. I will get to that as soon as I can get my girl to move her big patootie.

Goober love,
Stanley

Diplomacy

This here is my buddy, Lady. She's a sweet little goober girl of the Cocker Spaniel variety.

She doesn't look like she's built for speed, but she can run like the wind when she wants to.

Sometimes she is Stella's walking partner, but sometimes she's mine. (I have to tell you that she's a LOT easier to walk with than Stella is. Lady's not bossy like Stella.) When she & I walk together we like to round out our time with some chasin' & sniffin' in the backyard.

We're just sniffin' here, but we kind of look like we're ready to rumble.

Because she's so short I eventually give in and allow her easy access. It's gonna happen anyway so why not?

When our tongues are hanging like this, it means our booties are dragging and it's time to hydrate!

Lady finally turned to my girl and said exactly what I was thinking, "Are you gonna snap photos all day or get us some WATER, woman?!" Of course, lady says it more sweetly and with a smile on her face.

Just so you know, when Lady comes over it's like having a major summit negotiation at the U.N. Merv, my catbro, used to live with Lady until Lady started sleeping in his litter boxes and moving all of her toys into them. (A cat will never look at you as anything but his sworn enemy after that.) So, we have to keep our promise to Merv that he'll never have to deal with Lady again. When she comes over, we squirrel Merv away in his lair so he doesn't have any flashbacks of the old days. Just watching out for my Merv.

Love,
Stanley

WooberPalooza

Today is a double celebration. It's my bud, Wally's, Burpday & Gotcha Day all rolled into one! Here's 4 Wally heads for the price of one! He is definitely a Corgador extraordinAire!

Wally's goober name is Woober, and in honor of my Woober Boy and his birth I have written some goober haiku.

She's a Lady

I think Tom Jones said it best in his song, "She's a Lady". This here is my buddy, Lady. And I thought she was MINE... until my little sissy stole her right out from under me!

It seems that the two of them have become walking partners. My girl walks Stella up to Lady's house, then walks them both back to our house, where they get to run around like crazy pups in the backyard before my girl whisks Lady back to her own house. Look at the two of them... thick as thieves!

I am showing Stella the agony I feel over the loss of my buddy, and dance instructor, Lady.

But, Stella assured me that she has no intention of stealing Lady. She wouldn't mind if we could share her, though. I took a moment to consider that option.

Then Lady made it clear that I am still one of her fave goobs...

and it was back to business as usual!

Stella even instigated a little 3-way chase game for us. She's not such an annoying sissy after all.

Hope you all had a great weekend,

Stanley

My buddy, Neko the AireGirl, is having surgery to remove a disc in her back on Tuesday. Please be sending her some good vibes and whatever else you'd like to help get her through it all. I'm sure she'd love to meet you if you don't know her yet.

Bogart is My Homeboy

Bogart is DA MAN! He was my very first blogging buddy, and he and his sweetie, Miss Sunshade the SuperDale, were instrumental in my girl opening her heart up again to a certain homeless dog after her Rosie went to the Rainbow Bridge.

He is insightful, pithy, and a sagacious mentor. (Plus, my girl thinks he has the cutest and juiciest schnoz around.)

Bogart just celebrated his third birthday last month!

If you've never seen his stick work...

...or had the privilege of reading his witty repartee...

... then stop by to see him. He is a goob among goobs, and I am proud to call him my friend!

And yes, Stella & I did receive this FAB Award announcing us as Bogart's Blogging Friends Forever!

Didn't I tell you he was DA MAN?!

Lovin' Bogart with all of my goober heart,

Stanley
