Caring for the Elderly

A few weeks ago my hooman girl rescued this grandma sock monkey from certain death. She was in the FREE box at a yard sale. When my girl picked her up a little hooman pup said, "Excuse me, but what kind of home are you going to give her?"

My girl thought that was a little cheeky, coming from a girl who was giving her granny sock monkey away for FREE. But, my girl waved toward her car parked down the street, and said, "It's for my boy, Stanley."

As if on cue I stuck my head out the window and gave a loud goober salute to the granny sock monkey. The hooman pup gave her blessing, and my girl introduced me to my new friend.

Actually, we were thinking of rehoming this sock monkey to Montreal, knowing that our own Sophina La Brador was an aficionado. But alas, we did not think granny sock monkey would survive the trip.

Since she is going to retire here in GooberStan to live out her days in luxury, I thought it might be a great idea for us to open up a sock monkey sanctuary. You know. For all those forgotten or ready-to-retire sock monkeys.

What do you think?

Could all the elderly sock monkeys of the world use a little goober lovin' before they go to that great sock monkey mountain in the sky?

What?! You think I'm being a little rough?

Granny is tougher than she looks. (By the way, I am NOT disrobing her. Her dress was already hanging off her body when we met.)

Goober Love,
Stanley

Stanley, have you had any Wallymellon recently? You seem quite frisky these days, BOL!

We've never seen a sock monkey with clothes and a hat (it is a hat in that pic isn't it?)

Don't let Stell see, she might get jealous!

What a great sock monkey. We bet that little girl didn't want to give her granny sock monkey away. We bet her evil mom made her.

Hi Stanley,

What a wonderful thing to suggest. A sock monkey sanctuary. Then you could have all of the old and unwated and unloved sock monkeys. Now, that would be nice. If it happens and you get too many, I'd be more then happy to assist as s backup or remote sanctuary! He he!!

Your pal,
Kirby

That sock monkey is so lucky that you found him, Stanley!

My mom loves to go to yard sales and she usually finds something for me when she does. I'm going to have her look for a sock monkey for me, too!

I'm not sure this is a good idea, Stanley. You may become known as the Dr. Kevorkian of Elderly Sock Puppets.

Stan,

That is a wonderful philanthropic project. I wonder if Brangelina would be willing to donate millions for your Sock Monkey Sanctuary. It could be an international project, with Sophie on board.

Have a great fourth. Are you going to have Wallymelon? I'm going to have some laced with Melatonin because I do hate the boomers.

I hope when I am ready to retire that I don't have to spend my time in the mouth of a black and tan. I'm not so sure granny is enjoying herself as much as you are.

Granny sock monkey is in the best possible paws, Stanley! If she were here, with us, she would probably 'splode all by herself. There seems to be a lot of that going on lately, at our house. We don't know what the problem is! Have a pawsome 4th of July!
