I've Been Scouted

Saturday my girl told me there was some Scout coming over to meet me. I figured the European footie ball teams had heard of my ball handling prowess. Instead, she brought this dude over. This is Scout.

Don't get confused. He's wearing one of my collars (the black one with white & red swirlies). I'm the taller one with the pirate collar. We did a little meet & greet in the yard.

He's a homeless pup and Airedale Rescue is trying to find him a home. My girl took him to meet a potential adoptive family earlier in the day. I'm giving him some pointers on how to pick the right hoomans to adopt.

Then we moved on to the sniff fest up on the deck. Being the polite goober I am I let him sniff first.

Then I let him come in for a good up close & personal sniff.

I'm a little embarrassed to say that I skipped my portion of the sniff Fest and did a Brokeback maneuver on him. See his tail sticking up by my left side?

He politely let me have a little fun, but when it looked like I was getting serious he gave me the whatfore and we went tearing around the yard like crazy pups!

Someone had mentioned in his profile that he doesn't like little dogs, so of course, Stella marched right out to meet him and Scout did great!

Stella showed him over to the outdoor bar for a drink after she zoomed around the yard with him.

She was a little pooped after playing hostess.

All that is known about Scout is that he's a little over 5 years old, only lived outside at his former residence, and didn't have a lot of contact with hoomans or other dogs. He LOVES to cuddle and be loved on, and he seems to like other dogs just fine. We're not so sure about cats, but think he may not like them.

Like most Airedales he's a GOOBER of the highest order. If you are interested in learning more about Scout, or even in adopting him, you can go here to check it all out! There are tons of great Airepups just waiting for their furrever homes!

Hope everydog, kitty & hammie had a great weekend!
Scout's (and ours) was FABULOUS, obviously, because we got to spend some of it together!

Goober love,
Stanley

Well Scout sure does seem like a true gentledog! It was really nice of you and Stella to show him around. I do hope he finds a home. Im always bugging mom to convince her mom to get a new adopted doggie, but never any luck. And good idea for the treat name! I like it!

Hey Stanny...
Wow, that Scout is a cute aireboy (but totally has nothing on you that is for sure!!!) You were very ahem, welcoming, weren't you! But he wasn't fond of Merv? How could that be???

Oh Stanley..watch that when other dogs start wearing your collars. I think that means your girl likes him. She wants him to look good, so she spiffs him up with YOUR collar. Next thing you know, you got yourself a bruzzer.

I totally wish that we were unpacked. I would send Scout's pixure to my dad. He mentioned one day that we need an airedale to make a complete step set of terriers. Think he was serious?

maybe.

we'll see. But if Scout usurps your place, I know we would let you come here.

Stan Man! You sure do know how to break in the new guys. I've been doing the same with Oscar. Gotta share the love. Though not at my house, I hope. My ma ape is calculating how long it would take her to drive to Kansas...

wally.

ps. You coulda written that my ma ape smells like wet socks and she still would have thought it was totes cool that you know Chinese! (And she would be none the wiser).

Manley Stanley having a little bromance. You are such a metrodogual, aren't you? Scout is a goober and a cutie and I can see Stella is working her diva-ness all over him. Only a true diva can convert anti-small dog dog to a pro-all dog dog. She is so frakkin' cute I can't stand it!

p.s. Still lovin' the sock monkey collar.

Scout might have been on his best behavior to impress miss Stella. Stanley, man, I am a little worried about your aire-cut. It looks like you are wearing pant-a-loons!

Hope he finds a goober house of his own soon.

Stanley, that was so kind of you to show him the ropes. With you as a mentor, I'm sure he'll find his perfect human(s) in no time.

That said, next time, perhaps you could buy him dinner and maybe take him to a show before you start your moves on him!

Just a thought...(I know Asta will expect a nice piece of jewelry at the very least before you can even butt sniff!)

Your pal,

Petey

Um...Stanley...um...HE'S A BOY.

Anyway...

He looks a lot like Babystan, doesn't he????

How sad for a dog to spend most of his life outside. That's just wrong.

We know you were giving him some good tips on catchin' a family...

Kudo's to you, Stella and ur girl for helpin' this fine fellow out!!!!!!

Barkin' at ya....

Laciegirl

Um...can Stella swim? There's been some doubt recently about Lakeland swimmin' ability...come and see...oh...and check out Stan's issue with the dishwasher....

You and Stella are the best of hosts. Grammie says, "Moco you need to take a lesson from GooberStan." Didn't I put up with Foley and Dawson? I didn't do the Brokeback thing though. Where was Merv?

Hi Stanley,
My mom says THANK YOU for all your kind words of support and encouragement (and also the Goober smooches!!) during her miscarriage. She is still leaking a bit but your Goober smooches are making her feel better!
Scout is so handsome and mom says if we live anywhere closer, she'd not hesitate to bring him home. He looks like a fun guy. We hope he finds his furever home soon cos he deserves it!
