Adapting

Pssst.

Over here, behind the towel.

Yea, that's right. I'm a cat. If you have a problem with that then move on to some other blog today, because I've got a couple of things to say.

Greetings, friends of GooberStan. I'm coming to you from what was once my sanctuary... my own personal meditation room. I don't have much time because any minute a couple of furballs, who shall remain nameless, are going to shove their way in here too. Hey. I'm not llooking for pity, just some understanding.

Don't get me wrong, man. I LOVE these goobers, but it's been a big adjustment for me to learn the ways of the goobs and to adapt my way of life to their presence. Long ago, before our girl brought home a big hairy dog for me (otherwise known as Stanley), I'd catch some one-on-one time with the girl whenever she was in this room. I would sometimes perch on the side of the bathtub, between the 2 shower curtains, and do some acrobatic moves, then recharge my zen to the sound of the falling water.

Now, look who ELSE has claimed this place as a sanctuary. (Bet you can't guess who caused that nasty ring around the tub either.)

The wee goobette is just as bad. She thinks she OWNS that tub.

So, I've decided to make the most out of a bad situation. Here's the small furball practicing some moves I showed her on the balance beam.

And now, whenever we hear that falling water, we all come running and have ourselves a family meeting. (Notice my close up at the end please.)

Merv it is marvellous you have adapted so well to having 2 hairy hounds invade your home.
We have to say we are amazed at your patience. Don't they chase you? Ummmm I rather think I would!

We are also extremely impressed you venture so close to water!

You are indeed a most extraordinary cat.

Hi Merv,
It must be tough having to share things huh? I am just begining to learn how tough it can be...
Well it does seem to me that you have adapted rather well to the 2 furballs... Admit it, you do enjoy their company right?

Clara here Merv,
Once there was just me, then came the little black thing. She turned out to be OK. Then the big black and white wuss showed up. He is easy to over power. After that came the other feline known as Edgar. He is a pain in the back side. Lastly came the brown dingle brain. I feel your pain. It has been just recently that I have decided to take back what is mine. I now plant myself on the big bed and the rest of them have to figure out how to lay around me.

I totally know what its like to have your space invaded and your stuff taken over. However, you are a cat and I think that the goobs are being generous.

That shower curtain gave my mom some sort of weird flashback. She hasn't seen colors like that since those laser shows back in the seventies.

I think perhaps that the running water creates a sort of zen meditation pool. Oooooom.

Merv, sorry you fav place got taken over. We love the shower too, the best part is after the lady showers we jump in, get our muddy paws wet, then run around the house leaving little prints all over. Hah!

Wait--I though cats weren't supposed to like water and dogs weren't supposed to like baths! Gooberstan is a strange and wonderful place!
