Motivational Speaker

I've been doing some serious thinking...

while Stella's been slowly going insane.

My girl has been going stir crazy, what with being laid off and then being sick for the 5 weeks after Thanksgiving... and it's been rubbing off on Stella & I. So, for the sake of everyone's sanity, I grabbed my fave stuffie of the moment (my Big Ass) and settled in for some deep thinking on how to jump start my girl's career search and the next step of our adventures here in GooberStan.

I must thank Maggie & Mitch for the gift of the Big Ass. They bestowed him upon me when I was on my cross-country roadtrip last spring, and he's been a faithful companion as I mine my deep thoughts.

I find that the more I chew and cuddle my Big Ass, the more clarity I have.

It may not look like it, but I'm really working the little grey cells here.

When I'm in this position I almost have Stella fooled that I'm in an unbreakable trance. She usually doesn't mess with me once I reach my "zone."

After one last bite to the Big Ass (eliciting a very satisfying fart sound from him) I am ready to spring my motivational moves on my girl.

My girl doesn't know it yet, but I'm gonna light a fire under her to get her on the path to a job she loves and to living in a place where we will all flourish. (Smalltown Kansas has served its purpose, but is NOT where we want to stay.) I may not be a card-carrying motivational speaker, (and I don't live in a van down by the river), but I got my girl to finish her thesis. I can get her to find a job. (By the way, do you like my devious face?)

Goober love,

Stanley

You bet. We love the devious face. It's a lot like our rendition of the same notion.
BTW, is that an Aboriginal art collar?? Looking very Aussie...

We think you've got one sweet face! There's not a devious cell in you! It's amazing too - look at what you have to put up with! Is Stella mental?!

Stanley! Stella!

I didn't realize that your Girl had been laid off, nor that she had been so sick. Talk about stress! Ugh!

I am not much of a motivational speaker either.. not NEAR as good as you... but let me say this. Wherever you go, even if it's far away from everything that's familiar, I think you've been brought to this crossroad for a reason. Change is scary, but it's necessary. And we are ALL here backing you up! Keep your head up and maintain your confidence! You deserve a great job, and you deserve happiness!!!!

Stan, we know you can do this - just keep working at that Big Ass and maybe you will get the inspiration you and your Girl need. Lots of luck to her in her search, maybe she can move closer to our area and find something - then we could meet you and the insane Scruffy:)

Hi Stanley,
What a coincidence that you have a Big Ass.. our mom has one too but she is screaming something about it being a different kinda 'ass'. Does this make any sense to you cos we are totally confused?? *wink*

All the best to your girl on her job search. We know for sure that good things always happen to nice people, and your girl is at the top of the 'nice' list!!

Ermm...That video of Stella reminds me of Nelly at the moment. She's not allowed on walks because she's got a bit of a problem and is going to see the V.e.t. tomorrow...

Hey, listen, we didn't know your girl was laid off AND poorly for five weeks - hope she is on the road to recovery now. We're sending some MEGA Airezen for her, just in case!!!

So your girl is looking for a job she loves, huh? Well, my suggestion would be to contract her out to give other pups some of those atomic bootie scratches - WE'D EMPLOY HER!!!!!

PS. That is an impressively devious face - nice!

Random Observations:

Stella has a voice just like that of the Queen of the Night in "Der Hölle Rache kocht in meinem Herzen"--it's awesome, and she has a great career ahead as a Diva!

We didn't know The Girl was ailing and looking for a new gig. We suggest that she think seriously about leveraging her extraordinary intelligence, which plainly she acquired through association with airedales.

Now, we know that one of the economic sectors that is remaining reasonably vibrant is higher education...and we kinda wonder if The Girl wouldn't be a superb teacher/administrator/counselor/dog-lover in a university or community college or something of that sort (check higheredjobs.com, chronicle.com, studentaffairs.com, etc.)

Cheers,

Bozo, Sephie & Bailey

We hope things change for your girl. It's no fun to be laid off or to be sick.

Sorry about the delete. We accidentally used Jan's ID.

Sick for five weeks? Soooo glad you're better. Stanley, keep Stella busy--her barking started a near riot among the dogs in this house.
