Lest you should think all my time in New York City was spent canoodling with my sweetpea and lovepup, Asta, here is proof positive that our relationship is not one of those that excludes our friends. We spent some good time with Sophie, Petey Boy, and his tennis ball. (My girl told me we were not ever leaving NYC if we didn't get to see Petey, so I kept stalling the meeting, even though I was dying to see him.) Here he is in all his fuzzy glory, sporting that cute little balogna tongue.
Our first meeting occurred at Asta's house. Petey came over for evening cocktails. His fave is a bowl of cool water with a tennis ball twist.
His mama (Auntie Jane) looks like she's trying to work some type of healing on me in this photo, but really she's just giving me some very relaxing scritches.
We went right from scritches into the Goober Mind Meld.
Eventually I had to relinquish my claim to Auntie Jane so Asta could get some share of the lovin'.
Auntie Jane tried to convince me that Asta & Petey are like brother and sister, but I really don't see the resemblance.
We all felt at home with each other right away, and in no time Petey was sporting his mohawk for us (it's his fave 'do when at the beach). He had us all cracking up!
Asta engaged my girl in a game of holy roller fetch.
That girl plays a serious game of tug,
and loses all sense of personal space. (My girl didn't care, though. She's a BIG Asta fan!)

From their expressions you can obviously tell that the photographer is NOT the one with the tennis ball.
Sophie showed us one of the stupid hooman tricks she's been teaching her mom. She said her mom can actually put 3 balls in her mouth at once.
Petey ~ communing with the ball.
We tried several times to get a group shot of us at the run together. My powers of persuasion were not enough to entice my sweet Asta to leave her holy roller ball for the photo op.
It's pretty obvious who is not cooperating in this photo.

At one point I agreed to help Sophie attempt to maneuver the tennis ball away from Petey by implenting the double-team booty block. (It didn't work.)
Plus, she gets my sense of humor.
He's an eldercat, but you'd never know it. He acts like a wee kitten.
He even gave a kiss to Sophie's mama, Sherry.
Of course, Auntie Jane and I made sure to get some good one-on-one time together. I really think she digs me.
Plus, she gets my sense of humor.
As a ruse to give Asta & I some time together sans hoomans, Sophie feigned fatigue so she could go back to her luxury hotel and Petey invited all of the hoomans over to his house for the evening.
My girl, Sophie's mama Sherry, and Asta's mommi Ami all fell in love with Petey's catbro, Mica.

Now, I'm going to warn you that the following few photos are a little disturbing. They were taken covertly by Mica & Petey, and appear to be a photo essay on hooman goobs who have mistaken one of Petey's squeakies for a party favor. What's really strange is that ALL of the hoomans participated. Could it have anything to do with what they were drinking? You be the judge.
Goob love,
Stanley

Stanley your trip to NY was the best!
Petey certainly was an excelllent host entertaining the hoomans for the evening. The squeaky looks a bit scary but if it kept them happy and allowed you and Asta to some quiet time together then Petey's mission was well and truly accomplished.

Wow, what a great time! The people look like they had fun, too! Our dad lived in NY as a pup, thousands of years ago.
It looks like you have had the time of your life Stanley!
Big licks to you

Hahaha Stanley, I am laughing outloud about the crazy humans and that toy. DEFINITELY had something to do with that bubbly substance they were sippin' on!
Thanks for comin' by and saying hi! Yes, my Momma is a NUT and got a taste of toad poisoning. Sometimes I wonder how she got along before I came around.... she's a mess! Can't wait to hear more about your funnest EVER trip!!
What FUN! I love looking at the pictures of your trip, Stanley! Keep them coming!
Grammie says that is a group of hoomans that she could have a good time. Easy to see that all of you had the best time. That Petey is quite the host. Those New Yorkers really know how to party.
omdog a room full of goobs!! LOL. My dear Sophie is so dazzling I can barely stand it! I mean, she is just gorgeous. Not that Asta is not beautiful herself, but Sophie really does it for me. I am so jealous you all got to meet. AND Petey, what a cool dude he is!1
Stanley! I am missing you already. I just got back from my dog park and was very disappointed you weren't there. There was a rottie lab cross named Splash who was there and he had a huge head, but that has nothing to do with anything.
Has Merv been asking about me?

Stan my man! What a BLAST!! Been loving all the trips and photo's.Whata rollacoaster - been making me laugh one minute, cry the next. But I've been doing my happy jig for you and your girl that you had such a wicked trip. And I'm wagging glad I gave that Stuffie to Petey for all the leggeds to play with...(takes on to know one huh?) Pawsonally I think that was very unhygenic. Ewww. Did they disinfect those botoxed lips before passing them around?
Wiry lovies and kissies, Eric xx xxx
Humans are so silly, aren't they?? You had my mama laughing out loud with those pics!!
Love,
Janie
I'm lovin your stories about your road trip Stanley!
Just a wee bit worried about the Humans......do they all have big pink mouths, huge teeth and a cigar hanging out of their mouths?
Kinda worried as my Human Sissy spent some time in New York this week, (well 5 hours at the airport) on her way to Las Vegas, and I care much for her well being.
ha ha ha ha!
I loved this post, very funny. Most important to keep control of your humans though, once they have a drink, all sense of decorum is lost I am afraid.
Far better to have Petey's cocktail, water and a ball twist!!
lotsaluv, Marvin xxxxxxxxxx
Stan! Had to prance (waddle) on over when I heard you had my gawjus husband and brand new mother-in-law.....I am sooooo jealous!
Looks like you all had a blast together and got on really well :D
Isn't it amazing what you can get the humans to do when you ply them with alcohol? Very funny big mouth pics! We have a Humunga-toungue toy.....wonder if we can get the same result? And Mum does the mind meld thing with Alf....hard to tell who's the one imparting wisdom!
Lovely to meet you....we've all heard so much about you and know that Asta is missing you like mad.
Slobbers xx
And the norm is that the humines are supposed to keep control of their canines (and felines)? Looks to us like the table was turned and it was the four-leggededs keeping the two-leggededs in line.
You ALL looked like you got on really well. That makes us really happy and makes us dream of our time....
Keep the stories coming,
We love 'em,
Jake and Fergi
