More Than A Thousand Words

My girl was on her way to an appointment yesterday. The war in Iraq was the last thing on her mind until she saw this in front of someone's house:

There was a woman standing amidst the flags. Some flags had fallen over and she was setting them upright. She also looked like she was adding new flags and a new number sign. By the time my girl turned around and came back the lady was gone.

I wish this war was over...

Love,
Stanley

It all makes me very sad. Soon Peanut's Dad will be going to Iraq. We will be thinking good thoughts for all to return safely.

Stanley,

We so wish this war was over.

What a photo. And I wonder the story behind the lady's straightening the flags!!

We were going to joke about being "gooberized" -- which we think is something we'd like. But that photo caught our giggles before they got out.

Thanks for visiting us.

Many woofs to you,pal.

It makes me so sad, too, Stan. I wish it were over. We're definitely not helping anything by being over there, we're just making more people hate us, prompting future terrorist attacks and letting our boys die. It's not right.

Sad puggy kisses

Hi, Stan.
You are right. There is no need of words. I always wonder about the names and stories of life behind the numbers. Wars are not good.
Have a good night

Speachless AND Barkless up here in Canada. We've lost a lot of soldiers as well. Nothing close to you guys, but one is too many in my books. Sophie's books too (although technically, she doesn't read much).

I just know the Republic of Gooberstan will never go to war. Maybe a scuffle over who gets the last dehydrated liver bit, but never war. We should all pack it in and move to Gooberstan!

Stanley.

I know it is hard to think about the war. A lot of Americans forget what happened on 9/11. It is important to let terrorists know we will not take being the underdog. We Americans are strong, we are smart and we are gosh dang proud of our country. We won't take anyone threatening to kill our loved ones and we are a nation under God, so don't threaten to take that away either...or we will stand up for what we believe in. I feel blessed to be in a country so many women and men stand up for their nation, God and families.

I may wish we were not in war, but I support our troops and support our president. Why do I support our president? Because what good does it do to not support him-it does nothing but draw anger.

I've rambled on Stanley...I feel strongly about the war. My mom has many friends that are fighting for us and they are gosh darn proud of what they are doing. They don't think it is a waste...How would it make those brave women and men feel to know others think they are risking their lives for nothing?

Wet kisses and Booty Scratches,

Hercules

it's so easy to forget the horrendous amount of deaths over there when you don't have any loved ones in the military or living in the middle east. that is a beautiful yet sad tribute.

oh so sad. i do not understand why hoomans can't live together in peace. the world sure seems big enough to give everyone enough room to live happily and let others do the same.

if hoomans were just more like us, i think things would certainly go a lot better for them.

pee s. i wonder how many flags represent a sad dog like us who has been left behind, wondering why their brave loved one hasn't come home.

let's all say a prayer for them, too.
