Goobs Gone Green

Here in GooberStan, we have made a commitment to make our lives greener than they were last year.

To that end, we are starting small, by having our hooman girl use only reusable grocery bags.

Of course, if they're going to carry our eatables, they're going to have to pass a series of goober stress tests. Goober slime and gnawing test... check.

Volume and weight test... check.

Tug test... check.

Let's try that volume test again... check. These bags will hold 2 1/2 Stellanators and then some. (Don't ask how I know about the 1/2 of a Stellanator.)

We pronounce these bags goober tough. With the amount of regular plastic bags our hooman girl has been known to collect in one year, the switch to reusable bags should make a dent in the plastic waste in our corner of the world.

Every journey starts with the first step. Here's to a greener GooberStan!

Love,

Stanley

Perhaps a Stellanator should become a standard unit of measurement. It is certainly convenient.

We have those bags too, but will still sometimes get plastic so mom will have "poop bags" for walkies.

Dude, we have reusable bags but with the STEELERS logo on them, how cool is THAT?! I hope I can bring home a Steelers super bowl victory in mine.

Sorry, I have football on the brain, clearly!

Gus said...

Oh wow. Now if your girl is like Muzzer, the trick will be getting her to remember to take them along! Good luck

Just make sure that little Stella doesn't accidentally end up in the recycling bin!

Well done on accessing of the reusable bag. We have a few of those here too. After seeing the type of test you have to do, I understand why jie jie carry me in the bag too.

Good job checking out those bags, guys. I'm glad that they passed all the tests.

We have some of those bags here, too, but my mom always forgets to take them with her when she goes to the grocery store. Do they sell anything for memory improvement??

Hi Stanley,
We are glad Gooberstan is going green... Our mom also has a reusable bag which she can roll up until it is really small but it is really big and sturdy!! (but she sometimes forgets to bring it with her when she changes her handbags (women!!)...

That's a great idea! Our mom takes a trash bag full of plastic bags to the recycling about every 2weeks! We will bite Mom's butt until she starts using those bags...especially since we know they have already been Goober-tested!

I am very curious now, how you know the volume of two and a half Stellanators, Stanley!

Good work on the green goober issues though!

Most of our shops here in the UK keep their plastic bags under the counter, as if they are illegal produce or something!

green licks (which are meant to be good licks but sound pretty horrible! ;0D)

Excellent work Stanley and Stella. Most impressive. You have set high standards and you must surely have helped reduce your carbon paw print.

Ummm I would be most interested to know how the ratio of 2 1/2 Stellas to one recyclable bag was achieved!

Congrats on going green! You both are excellent bag testers. I am afraid those bags would only hold 1/4 of a Janie!! Scary thought!!

Stan! You're ready to move to Montreal. Most stores don't even give out plastic bags anymore. You wouldn't believe how many vinyl liquor bags my mom has had to buy since the SAQ (our govt run liquor stores) stopped giving out bags. Mom never remembers to take a wine bag with her. But she swears she's not a wino! And she's probably right. She actually prefers vodka. Such a good slavic girl.

That Stella looks sooooooo cute in that cool bag!!

Just make she sure's not in there when momma goes to the store or there won't be enough room in the bag for your snackies!!

Murphey said...

The lady uses those bags too. She gets so mad when she goes into a store and forgets to bring her bags.
But she has never tried to put me in one!
