Mangoober

My buddy Mango is something pretty awesome. He's one hunk of burning Mastiff love, and he's one genius of a goober for hosting the first ever alternative to the wannabe dogshow Westminster... Mango Minster! For being the goob genius he is I'm going to start calling him Mangoober!

I am deeply humbled by the awards I received at Mango Minster. They were totally unexpected! Here you see me sportin' my award for Reader's Choice Best in Show. Whoa. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed here...

I think my award may be trying to strangle me.

Nothing to worry about. I'll get it under control here in a minute.

Sthee? Almoth got it under conthrol.

Sthorry bout the intherruption in the photo thoot.

And, here's my lovely award for winning the Terrier Group! I will proudly represent my fellow terriers this year (and a big hairy goob shall lead them...)!

It looks almost good enough to eat.

I'll just break off a chunk...

...from over here...

Seems my girl forgot to mention to me that it's not an edible award, but isn't it gorgeous all the same? I can't seem to take my eyes off of it.

Speaking of eatables, I got a sweet bag of pumpkin treats which disappeared so fast we have no photographic evidence of them.

Look what else I received for my win in the Terrier Group!

Aw yea, baby. That's right! I received some PAWESOME banana carob cookies from my buddy Murphy (that's him on the package) and his mama's Punk Rock Dogg store (it's WAYYYY cool)! MAN, those were stinkin' tasty too!

That's not all! The judges of the Terrier Group, Penny, Poppy, and Patches, sent me my very own felted wheelie from their mama! She even named him after me!

Check out his adoption certificate!

Do you see the resemblance? (He's one good lookin wheelie!)

I know Wheelie Stan is not edible, but I might just sneak in for a little taste...

I am overwhelmed with all of these FABULOUS awards! Thanks Penny, Poppy, Patches and Murphy!! Give your mamas a big juicy goob smooch from me. And Mangoober, I'm ordering up the biggest and best Atomic Booty Scritch for you from my girl, and sending the biggest and juiciest of goober smooches for your sweet mama! Viva Mangoober! Viva Mango Minster! Can't wait to see all the pups compete next year!!!

Goober love,
Stanley

Team Flatulence

I'm a flatulent guy. I admit it. And to celebrate that flatulence with other pups of the same persuasion I joined an... organization of sorts. Since I can't really talk about it I'll let the shirt speak for itself.

Notice my diva goob sissy, Stella, in the background of this photo. While I'm modeling the only t-shirt I'll probably ever allow my girl to place on my body Stella is demanding a shirt of her own. I told her, "If there was such a thing as a Belch Club then you could get the t-shirt."

It's comfortable enough for just lounging around, and I LOVE it! Thanks, Murphy & your mama Colleen! Since I don't carry a wallet I'm still trying to figure out where to carry my membership card. If you want to join this organization and get this awesome t-shirt, go here and Murphy tells all about it.

Also, we are celebrating an award bestowed upon us by my sweetpea, Asta!

Here it is.

This *** Award is apparently, bestowed upon a fellow blogger whose blog's content is, in the giver's opinion Brilliant. I think that is overstating things a bit, but thank you for the honor! It is much appreciated.

The rules:"When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real.Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design.Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have 7 friends.Show the 7 random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Weblog.”Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon.List at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on!"

We want to pass this award onto:

1. Scruffy, Lacie & BabyStan's Mumsie ~ because she has 3 holy terriers under her roof.

2. Murphy the Boston Terrier ~ because he is the original punk rock dogg and puts up with not just one, but three little sissies!

3. Wally the Corgador ~ because he tells it like it is and is always full of fun and smoocharoos.

4. Simba & Jazzi ~ because they crack me up and because Simba is finding out that having a little sissy is not SO bad.

5. Neko the Airegirl ~ because she's sweet and takes such good care of her two moms.

6. Peanut & Flash ~ because they are good buddies and share their grammie with me.

7. Marvin ~ because he's a poet, he knows it, and he's amazing!

Now I'm supposed to share with you 10 honest but random things about me. Here goes.

1. Whenever I go outside to wee, I first pick up my pink flamingo and carry him in my mouth like a cigar while I squat and do my business.

2. I'm not usually cuddly except when my girl squats down and asks for a hug. I walk over to her, put my head over her shoulder and lean against her neck.

3. When my girl is not home I pull the living room curtains back over my head while I lean over the back of the couch, so I can keep an eye on what's going on outside.

4. If we go to the dogpark, the first thing I do is go in search of a pond or lake. If there isn't one, a big mud puddle will do.

5. I have 2 big black dots on the back of my tongue.

6. If Merv my catbro comes over and sits down in front of me, that is the signal that it is time for me to clean his ears for him, and I do.

7. Whenever I meet little kids I like to swipe my juicy goober tongue all the way across their face.

8. I love snow, wind, and wild cold weather.

9. I'm taller and leaner than the average Airedale.

10. One of my all-time fave things is when my girl gives me smooches on my punkin head.

Enough about me for now.

Love,
Stanley

Flamingos v Gnomes

It is a well-known fact that I have an immense respect for pink flamingos, and...

... you would have thought that flamingos could really kick some gnome booty.

funny pictures of cats with captions

You would have been wrong.

On a brighter note, we received an award!!! Buster, Sephie & Bailey the Kerry Blue Terriers passed this fun award on to us!

The award states: "This blog invests and believes in PROXIMITY -- nearness in space, time and relationships!" In other words, blogs that receive this award "are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."

We'll Go 'Round in Circles from Goober Stan on Vimeo.

Thank you Sephie, Buster & Bailey! We will proudly display this award and share it with these goober friends:

Madison, Ruby, Winnie Woo, Janie the Airegirl, Mr. T-Bone Beaseley, Sherman Penny & Lola, Bob T. Bear esq, and Dilly! We love you guys!

Goober Love,

Stanley & Stella

Poo Appreciation

Alright. I appreciate good poo as much as the next dog. I also know that I'm the one who let Stella post about her organic poo art. So, I have no right to complain. But I'm wondering if this poo thing maybe has gone a little too far.

Joe Stains and Tanner believe that this piece of poo art is deserving of...

their much-coveted Stain Award!

Confident that Joey would recognize her genius and that she would eventually receive the Stain Award, Stella recorded this acceptance speech several weeks ago. (Disregard the very loud TV in the background.) For those of you who don't speak Lakeland, she's just saying THANK YOU, JOE & TANNER!

I have since come to find out that there are even hoomans out there who appreciate the power and the beauty of poo. Take, for instance, these images from a calendar called, "The Monthly Doos 2009". You can see it and many other works of poo art by going here! This first image is for February (of course).

This is April.

This one is June.

And this is September. (I LOVE those little green army guys.)

Stella was thrilled about her Stain Award and to find that hoomans might actually pay money for her artistic efforts. Here are just a few photos from the publicity packet for the satisfied artist.

Don't get me wrong. I don't begrudge my sissy her success, but can you even imagine the kind of diva she's going to be now? Just look at that face.

Living with a diva,

Stanley

Bogart is My Homeboy

Bogart is DA MAN! He was my very first blogging buddy, and he and his sweetie, Miss Sunshade the SuperDale, were instrumental in my girl opening her heart up again to a certain homeless dog after her Rosie went to the Rainbow Bridge.

He is insightful, pithy, and a sagacious mentor. (Plus, my girl thinks he has the cutest and juiciest schnoz around.)

Bogart just celebrated his third birthday last month!

If you've never seen his stick work...

...or had the privilege of reading his witty repartee...

... then stop by to see him. He is a goob among goobs, and I am proud to call him my friend!

And yes, Stella & I did receive this FAB Award announcing us as Bogart's Blogging Friends Forever!

Didn't I tell you he was DA MAN?!

Lovin' Bogart with all of my goober heart,

Stanley

Award Season Catch Up

Even though there is a writer's strike, we have had an awards show here in GooberStan. No red carpet (we have a white one... with mud stains on it... whatever), but we're just as excited! Here are some of the awards we received at a ceremony that happened several days ago.

Lacy Lulu and Momo & her brother Pinot think we are Bloggers of the WORLD! Thank you for this award. We are humbled and honored.

We also received the You Make My Day Award from a boatload of friends, including Bogart, Koobus, Buster Sephie & Ms. Bailey, and our Scottish bud, Marvin. You all make our day, and we're stinkin' excited that we make yours.

Then, my love pup & Stella's buddy, Ruby Bleu, awarded us with the Thinking Blogger Award. This is one award we are most surprised to receive, but we are very pleased by it. We hope we make people think... and not just about the gooberish side of life.

Just today, we found out that our buddy, Odie, the Beagle Boy (go visit him ~ he's new to DWB), gave us the Thank You for Being My Friend Award. Thank YOU, Odie BOY! We love that you're our friend!

So many pups, hammies, and cats have received these awards already, and as it's taken us a very LOOOONGGGGG time to post about them, we are offering to share these awards with all our buds! Enjoy and know that we LOVE being part of your lives!!

Here is a photo of me, by popular demand. (Someone mentioned they were having goober withdrawal & I can't let that happen).

Goober Love,

Stanley & Stella
