Wisdom Quest

Yes. I am back. No. I did NOT run away with Asta. She's at home nursing her mommi through DWB withdrawl while they get their pooter situation in order. I'm sorry if I worried any of you. It's just that I had something I had to do. Okay?

Since I know I'm eventually going to be getting a sissy, and since I don't know ANYthing about being an older brother, I thought I'd go on a little wisdom quest ~ you know ~ replenish my AireZen, and seek the advice of some of my favorite sages on how to be a good brother. Since the Dalai Lama was not available, I stopped first to speak with Old Master Li. He lives right outside the gate of my favorite Daoist temple in Beijing. (Forgive the photograph. The guy who took it completely cut me off).

As an added bonus, Old Master Li offered me a little beard growing advice.

Then I was off to visit the big brother of ALL big brothers, my buddy, Wally! We all know he has a high energy and crazy sister in Ethel. Since I have NO IDEA who my sissy is yet, I need to prepare for every eventuality.

Whoa! Until talking to Wally I had no idea how much of a responsibility it is to be a big brother. He had spreadsheets, policy manuals, a special insurance policy, continuing education... you name it, he's got it covered, man! He's a total lifesaver. I feel like I'm more prepared now than ever to get my sissy. I just have to sing his praises. (Just be thankful this is not on video ~ it's a really long song).
Still no word yet on the sissy front. We have inquiries out, and will let you all know as soon as we find anything out. For now I've got to rechannel my AireZen, and here are two of the best positions from which to do that.
Number 1.

Number 2.

In case you were wondering, my hooman girl, while upset, is relieved I'm back and still in one big goober piece. She has led me to believe there will be no lasting fallout from my "failure to communicate" with her. I'm still her favorite goob.

Love,

Stanley

Oh Stanley, what a wonderful story! I am so glad that you are back home safe and sound. What you were doing is wonderful. You are such a hero. I'm glad you're not in trouble, too.

I'm not grounded anymore, but I have to behave myself for a while. My mom is getting worried about the next pawty. Halloween can be really scary, especially in Salem. She's getting nervous.

Glad you're back Stan. We thought you'd be in huge strife for not letting your girl know where you were. We can understand though, you really do need the knowledge. Being a big brother takes a lot of responsibility. I know having 3 sissies to deal with.
If you ever need a chin wag about it drop me a line.

Hey Stanny,

We can't be of much help because having a sissy is probably very different than just having a brudder. You're such a big goober though, I bet she'll wrap you around her little paw.

We do admire your search for wisdom!!

But "a pink tea of Harries?" Please please give us your goober interpawtation.

Well of course you're still her favorite goob! Who can resist your wooly face and sensitive eyes? I know I can't! ;)

Glad you're back, Stanny baby, and good luck on the sissy thing. Keep us updated, I know you will!

Holed up with Asta in your own little love shack...atta boy! Good thing you didn't ask me about getting a sissy because I would say DON'T DO IT!!

Sissys steal your attention, your food, your toys, your bullies and your mojo. I never had to really behave until Penny came along. Then Lola got here and it was WORSE. I have to have manners
around here now.

Dude, I suggest the next time to run away from home you FORGET about wisdom and go on an eating/playing/sleeping bender - now is your only chance. Trust me, I have a little sissy and she totally ruined my life. Go! Run! Before it's too late! Live it up while you still can!

Oooo.... for one moment I thought U were really missing!!!

So, do you know when your little sissy will arrive? To be honest, I wasn't too happy when Kaylie came home. She was sooooo annoying as a wee pup. She is alright now so I guess it's not too bad afterall.

U mention on my post about "NO NO". It's actually "ON ON" which is what the hoomans shout to signal that they are on track.

Wally's advice is pretty hysterical. Does he have advice about how to live with crazy cats?

It sounds like you're very thorough in your research. I was a big brother at my old house, so I hope the requisite skills will be appropriate when the whippersnapper Cassidy arrives.

Glad that you are back from your journey. I hope you did not come into any contact with lead paint in China. You should be a very responsible big brother with all the knowledge that you have gotten from your quest. You look like you might have jet lag and sleeping for a few days could do you some good.

Sparky said...

Here are my tips for being a big brother:

1. Do not share a kennel with anydog who is not potty trained yet, no matter how comforting it is to snuggle with said puppy.

2. Bone up on all your tricks, because the humans will be showering the new pup with treats, and the only way you will get your fair share is to wow them with your arsenal.

3. Get ready to have a shadow!

Stanley, I'm relieved that you are back, although a little disappointed that you weren't gigging in the East Village. I suppose the sages and Wally are just as cool. Esp. the Wallywoo part. Does this mean you might actually visit my blog again? You missed my interview and howling in a church. Well, okay, it wasn't me howling, but still ..... I think your mom would like it. She's into all the beating stuff isn't she?

You had a lot of fun, Stan. I'm glad you are back. If Mr. Miagi from The Karate Kid was still alive, I'd say you should have talked to him. He seemed very wise. I watched that movie with My Lady one day and I was mesmerized.

Stanley, Stanley...you may have lulled your Girl with your tales or tails...not sure which, but I was not born yesterday. Lac and I have been watching the tabloids...we'll see you eventually.
Advice on brotherhood;
Wait till the puppy barks at you...jump like she's just killed you....let her take a toy outta ur mouth...look pathetic...do not react, even though ya wanna murder her....YOU will get so much attention if you follow these simple stratagies for 'looking really good.' Attention is usually followed with food. Just put a check in the mail...
